Jewelry Care

Since beaded jewellery have metal and bead components, care for these 2 factors are important to keep you piece lustrous and long lasting.

When purchasing, find out the following:

  • Metal Type
  • Bead

What's your metal?

18k Gold Plated Pieces:

Gold plating is a thin wash of gold over brass or stainless steel. Our plated metal have an invisible special coating that keeps it from tarnishing quickly.

Care:
To keep the plating lasting for years, keep your piece away from any harsh chemicals like cleaning products, bug spray and alcohol that can ruin the protective finish of the gold.
The bracelets can be worn during hand washing. Light splash exposure to water is fine as long as you wipe your piece dry right after. Buff your piece to clean with the soft polishing cloth included.

Follow additional instruction below for BEAD care.

14k Gold Filled & Sterling Silver Pieces:

14k Gold Filled is a sheet layer of 14k Gold heat-bonded over brass or silver. It is as durable as solid gold.

Sterling Silver can tarnish overtime and will need to be buffed regularly to keep that silver colour and shine.

Care:
Not sensitive to water exposure but keep away from chlorinated pools & harsh cleaning chemicals that can dull the metal.
Buff your piece to clean with the soft polishing cloth included.

Follow additional instruction below for BEAD care.

What's your beads?

Seed beads (Beadwoven, Ocho and Douze Collection):

Care for braided jewellery:
Avoid submerging braided jewelry in water. You wouldn't want moisture within the braids that can cause mold. If this happens accidentally, let your piece dry out completely before wearing and/ or storing.
Care for single strand seed bead jewellery:
Not water sensitive but do avoid swimming with it in especially in chlorinated pools.
Follow additional instruction above for METAL care.

    Gemstones/Pearl/Crystal Jewelry:

    Care:
While these not water sensitive, do avoid wearing it in saltwater, chlorinated pools or any liquid chemicals exposure to protect the natural pearls/gemstones.
Follow additional instruction above for METAL care.

      Other Care:

      All Earrings with silicone backing:

Avoid submerging your earrings in water as the silicone closure may loosen its grip when wet. If this happens accidentally, let your piece dry out completely, store in a dry place before wearing it again.

Follow the care above according to the metal type and bead.
